Looking for some last minute Cinco de Mayo party ideas?! Well I’ve got you covered! So happy to share this bright and cheery little fiesta with you all today! And I’m even more happy to share that it was featured up over on SMP Living! Read on for my essentials to throw an epic fiesta and some gorgeous pictures take by Lisa Renault Photographie!
Food
First things first, some delicious food is in order and we definitely got that covered with the dreamiest spread by Ristorante Beatrice. I mean did you see these mini tacos?! The cutest right?! We also had some deconstructed fajitas, grilled shrimp, loads of quesadillas and of course some ceviche to lighten things up. SO. DELICIOUS.
Bright and cheery flowers
Aura Design whipped up the prettiest arrangement I ever did see. They added pops of saturated color to the flowers, which perfectly complimented our spread. I love the orange ranunculus, they were so unexpected and fun!
Speaking of unexpected, I don’t think people expect to see so much pink at a Cinco de Mayo party, but hey, I had to stick true to my aesthetic π I loved using these pink Structube chairs. They are so feminine but still colourful and fun. I stuck with a white table as to let all the other colors pop out. And the console was the greatest little corner for glasses, and of course tequila.
Cake
Because what’s a party without cake?! We had the cutest cakes ever on the console, all by the talented Felicia of Sweet Savour by Felicia. She is detail oriented with her cakes as you can see! I wanted a mixture of styles and Felicia nailed it- from the pretty floral cake to the one with the more intricate Fiesta inspired design to a fun little ombre cake, we had it all!
Papel Picado
This is a necessity to tie in the whole Cinco de Mayo theme. What’s papel picado you’re asking? It’s just tissue paper that’s crafted to turn into a whole bunch of little flags. It’s so easy to do I promise. It was actually my first try and I think I did alright! For a quick tutorial, check this out here!
Balloons
I think every party needs that one element that ties the whole thing together and for us it was our Fiesta balloons from Haute Balloon. Aren’t they so fun?! The tassels were the perfect compliment to our color scheme and I love how the silver just made the room almost brighter! Right up my alley.
Table Settings and Accessories
I pretty much raided my local HomeSense stores everyday for a week, gathering just the perfect accessories. I loved the light blue plates because they broke up all of the pink, and I grabbed the stemware in all different colors and sizes for some contrast. Papier Velours also supplied me with the most perfect name cards and of course, invitations.
Last but not least,
Friends!
I invited some of the sweetest bloggers I’ve had the chance of knowing here in Montreal. Crissy, Josie and Kris are all Montreal based bloggers, and they are actually all moms! Aren’t they the cutest?! I figured a welcome break of tacos was needed in their busy lives. Make sure to check them all out on their websites below! And a huge thanks to Wonderblush for making us all look camera ready!!
Many thanks to all the amazing Montreal vendors that helped create this party. You can find their websites here:
