I’ll be honest- I’m not much of a DIY-er. I don’t know how to sew, I can barely draw and my cutting skills are similar to that of a five year olds. Which makes holiday DIYs a bit hard to pull off! Luckily for anyone who is in the same boat as me, I am all for finding easy hacks and solutions to make myself seem like the ultimate DIY expert. Like how pretty are these little pastel eggs?! I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of obsessed with them! And best of all, they are so so easy to make. Read on for the full tutorial and more photos!
EASTER DIY: FLORAL TRIMMED EGGS
You’ll need:
1 can spray paint, I use this one here
One branch of paper or fabric flowers found at any craft store.
Glue gun
Eggs either boiled or blown, however you normally do it!
At least one day before you need the eggs, lay flat on a cardboard or paper surface and spray paint. In order to get that perfect spray paint finish, you’ll need to wait a few hours in between each coat to tilt and rotate eggs so every surface space is sprayed. It should take about 3-4 turns to get it completely covered.
Let dry overnight.
Cut off mini flowers from floral branch. Cut at the very very end of the stem. This will allow the flower to stick flat on the egg.
Dab a bit of glue on the end of the flower, and gently press against your egg. Press some directly in the middle of the egg, and some slightly to the side.
Let sit for 15-20 minutes.
And you’re done!
So easy right?
I picked one color for all my eggs, but this would be so pretty in a variety of pastels as well. Cost is kept low because the spray paint will last you several more projects! My branch cost me about $3 and I still have most of it left.
