This year’s Valentine’s Day will be quite a bit different than usual years. Instead of champagne and well, champagne- I’ll be sticking primarily to desserts 😉 Hence a dessert centric bar cart seemed like the perfect idea! With some balloons and the most gorgeous cake, everything else just fell into place!
Whether you’re entertaining for Galentine’s Day, or just want to have something fun for a dinner party, this Valentine’s Dessert Cart is the perfect touch!

Here’s what I included:
A statement cake
Like this one from Sweet Savour by Felicia here in Montreal. Isn’t it a dream?! It’s always easier to build any dessert table (or any party decor for that matter!) around the biggest thing, instead of the other way around!
Balloons
I find it’s always helpful to have something behind the bar cart-because that’s where your eye naturally gravitates up towards! If you catched my New Years Bar Cart styling, you’d remember that I used a wreath!
Height
I like to use different cake stands and trays to display sweets in differing heights. Once again, it’s all about being visually appealing! Some art work leaned up against the wall is also a great way to break things up, like this Minted piece here.
Other than that, I went with my usual color palette of pink. I stuck with lighter more muted tones to let things like the balloons and cake stand out. Cookies, mini cakes and madeleines were also on centre focus- the more desserts the merrier! Flowers are also a must, so a stop at Aura Design was key! Don’t these ranunculus just have you dreaming of spring? Keep on scrolling for more pictures and Happy Valentine’s Day friends!
