A few skincare favourites that have been on heavy rotation post baby!
After Aren’s birth, my skincare routine got simple real fast. I didn’t have as much free time as I used to. And while I would love to try out dozens of masks and new creams and serums, I just don’t have the energy! I need to use what works well, quickly and efficiently.
So it’s no surprise that I’ve been using the same few products over and over again. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it right?!
Like I said, time is a sensitive thing these says so I’m really looking for moisturizers that do the job quickly, cleansers that don’t leave my face feeling parched and anything that just refreshes me and gives me a quick reboot. I don’t have time for the mask that needs to sit on your face for 30 minutes. Or the cream that will work really well if you use it for 45 days. I need instant results! Luckily I’ve found quite a few items that work near miracles. Some of these products I’ve already been using for months- others are new on the rotation!
Regardless, they’re all great and I’m excited to share them with you!
Read on for my faves and stay tuned for more postpartum posts this week- I have a few good ones coming up!
A cleanser that leaves you refreshed and not dry: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
My number one criteria when it comes to cleansers is that they don’t make my skin feel tight. I hate that! I want something that wakes me up, but in a gentle no fuss kind of way. This cleanser checks off all the boxes. Smells great, leaves you refreshed and leaves your skin moist and dewy. No tightness, no flakes, no dry patches.

An eye serum to perk up those tired eyes: IDC Anti Fatigue Eye Serum
I mean, is there a product more appropriate for a tired mom? I’m loving the IDC eye serum to perk up my tired eyes. I use it both day and night and appreciate that it’s not too heavy. It goes on light which means I can put on my moisturizer after and not feel weighed down. It also deals with puffiness which is a huge thing when you are still waking up in the middle of the night! I find it easy to just keep this bedside for immediate access in the evening!

The best cure for dry lips : Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
I swear Aren is taking away all my good skin traits via my breastmilk. My lips have never been dryer these days and to get rid of that tightness and flakiness, I use this mask. Now, sometimes my lips are still dry but it has more to do with the face that I forget to put it on #momlife. This is actually a cult favourite in the lipcare world and you can’t go wrong with it!

The moisturizer that refreshes you and gets the day started : Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Radiance Lotion
This has become my favourite moisturizer since having Aren. I actually packed it along in my hospital bag and have been using it ever since. I love the smell, the way it feels on my skin and most importantly how hydrated my skin feels. It goes on light- which is key for a mom of an infant. I can’t use a heavy moisturizer formula because Aren is going to come close to my face almost immediately after wake ups and I don’t want him to have mom’s moisturizer pressed up against his skin! This Fresh moisturizer is hydrating but light- the two best things! It literally makes your skin feel like it’s glowing. Sign me up, right?!

The quickest way to revive that hair : Cake the Wave Maker Beach Spray
Because we can’t all do our hair all the time. I love this wave maker because it gives my blow dryed hair extra life. Yes, we all love dry shampoo (the Cake one is actually one of my faves!) but this spray does more for you than dry shampoo. It gives your dirty mom hair an extra day or two of life in the form of a different hair style! Note- this is probably not necessarily meant as a rescuer for dirty hair- but I’m keeping it real here and don’t know a mom of an infant who routinely maintains a perfect do. You need this spray for a little extra oomph!!

A quick mask to brighten up your complexion : Rodial Vit C Brightening Mask
This mask is my go to before a shower. It goes on clear which means baby Aren won’t be too frightened! And it gives you the perfect little glow to start your day! I also love the application of it, which is clean and easy. You don’t need to dip your fingers into the mask, just pump away!! It really just leaves your skin with this perfect shine that screams I drink lots of water and workout 😉 Ps I’m slowly discovering Rodial products and I love them!

The perfect evening mask : Omorovicza Midnight Radiant Mask
Masks are my favourite- something you may know about me if you’ve followed my blog for a while. This Omorovicza one has crept up on my list of favourite masks and for good reason. It’s made with mineral water from Hungary- a luxe ingredient that I just love (I’m a huge fan of the other products in this line!) But what I like most about the mask is that it helps even out my complexion, something I’ve been struggling with since giving birth. My skin feels brighter and more evened out, which is huge. Plus overnight masks are a game changer- just leave them on and go to sleep! Doesn’t get easier than that!

A light and non greasy evening cream: Beautycounter Nourishing Night Cream
I used to have a full night time skincare routine back in the day (the sans baby days!) Now? It’s a quick dash to bed before it’s time for a night feeding so brevity is key. I love keeping this Beautycounter cream bedside for a quick application before bed. I find having the products nearby really helps me use them- a lot of times you’re just so tired with a baby and the thought of having to go back in the bathroom and put on a night cream exhausts you even more. Take it from me- keep this cream close by and you won’t regret it!

A moisturizer and serum combo that makes your face glow: Dior Capture Youth Age-Delay Advanced Cream and Capture Youth Glow Booster Serum
Ok so I saved the best for last. Because this duo is consistently my favourite. A Dior Makeup artist actually recommended mixing the serum into the moisture which I love doing. Thanks Kazem!! The moisturizer goes on thick but settles immediately, leaving your skin so soft. And the serum? It gives you an instant glow that I just love. While I mix it into my moisturizer, I also just sometimes go wild and put some more on! I love how it feels, smells and looks. I only started using Dior Skincare in 2018 and I’m a quick convert- their products really make your skin feel like a million bucks, something this mama appreciates!

While a few of these products were gifted to It’s a Sparkly Life, all opinions are my own. I’ve tried many skincare products in the last year, and these are by far the ones I’ve used the most in my postpartum journey! I appreciate you following along as always.
