Earlier in 2017, I had the pleasure of heading to New York City with the team at Tiffany & Co. To say I was honoured is an understatement- I literally had to re read the email four times to make sure I understand what they were saying ;-)Tiffany is one of those iconic brands you grow up knowing. I remember when I was a teenager it was all about those little blue boxes. I still have them at my parent’s house tucked safely in a drawer. My first piece and my favourite was the classic bean necklace. I most definitely cried happy tears when my parents gave it to me on my 16th birthday! And I still have a silver ring that I wear to this day.
Going into a Tiffany store always felt so fancy. I loved it. All this to say, I didn’t even have to think twice about heading to New York to learn more about their new fragrance. Their new Eau de Parfum is all about New York and what makes it so great- and to keep with that theme they showed us an amazing NYC experience. The fragrance has hints of iris and mandarin-but in a fresh modern way
Here’s what I did while I was there:
Eat
Because you know I like to eat. I had a delicious dinner at Terra with some lovely blogger girls I’ve gotten to know via Instagram, Allie and Dana. They’re the cutest ever and have such beautiful accounts! Make sure to check them out!
I had breakfast at Tiffany’s* – which obviously included mimosas, fancy avocado toast and mini french toast bites. Lunch at Cipriani, which was filled with pasta and bellini’s- fun fact, Cipriani in Venice actually invented the Bellini! We also had a fantastic dinner at the Standard Grill, which I’ve been to multiple times in NYC before, most notably my BFF Meghan’s 30th birthday party- I’m shocked that they let me in 😉
Sleep
Wanting us to have that classic NYC experience, we stayed at The Plaza. Home to Eloise, infamous SATC scenes and Home Alone of course! It was a marble and gold lover’s dream. Just gorgeous with amazing service, staff and yes, food 😉 It’s also home to a stunning champagne bar that I would love to hit up again!
Do
Try on diamonds of course! After our lovely breakfast we got a grand tour of the store. We tried on stunning engagement rings, played dress up with gorgeous necklaces and bracelets, and even got to see where the magic happens. The magic being where the stunning designs are actually made. It’s so private that we weren’t even allowed to take photos- imagine telling that to a group of bloggers and media! We chatted with some lovely individuals who work there and saw how much work goes into the designs. Some of the pieces they were working on won’t be ready for another 4-6 months!
We also got to drink champagne and wear cocktail dresses at the official launch party, which is always welcome! They threw an amazing cocktail party to celebrate the fragrance, capped off with a performance by St.Vincent.
Shop
Ok, so this wasn’t part of the official itinerary but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do! My two usual spots in NYC for practical purchases that I can use routinely (i.e not $700 shoes from Saks) are Bloomingdales and the dress department at Lord & Taylor. Call me basic but I only had a few hours to shop and I had to get my money’s worth! Since I’m from the States, I love Bloomingdales and am familiar with most of their lines- Aqua their in house line always has great in trend sweaters, dresses and coats that don’t break the bank. And the dress department at Lord & Taylor has so many options for a dress lover like me!
I actually picked up this blue lace dress while I was there. I’m planning on wearing it to the ceremony portion of a wedding we’re headed to next week. It’s classic and just perfect for fall! I also did a little run through Soho as well as hit up basic favourites at Uniqlo.
*Side note I have to say that when I was a child I was obsessed with Audrey Hepburn. I adored her so much that one time my mom gave me a very short hair cut and the only reason I stopped crying was because my sister said it looked like Audrey Hepbrun’s hair. At a young age I was apparently very vain! All this to say, Breafast at Tiffany’s was a real pinch me moment for me!
A little but about the fragrance itself:
The fragrance itself is gorgeous to look at and lovely to smell! I’ll share more about it during the holiday time because it would make the perfect present! I’m already thinking of gifting one to my mom- sorry mom, surprise?! It’s classic, gorgeous and in a Tiffany blue box, what more could a girl want 😉
All photos of this fun blue dress were taken by Canada native Vicki Bartel! She’s Ontario based and was such a sweetie to shoot with! You can find her here on IG too!
I know this is a bit of a departure from my usual recipes and beauty faves, but it was such a fun experience that I wanted to share it! Scroll down for some photos of the events!
A huge thanks to Tiffany & Co for the amazing experience! You can shop their new fragrance here. Stay tuned during the holidays as I will be chatting more about it!
