A look at a few of the products we are loving as we hit month two with Baby Boy!
Ok so I’m a little late with this post- hello life with a newborn! It’s been a struggle to get a work routine in with our day to day but I’m working on it. I’m trying to cut myself some slack because in the States people don’t go back to work till at least month four- and in Canada? Most people take up to a year! So my 10 weeks doesn’t seem so bad!
I did manage to get up some of Aren’s favourite essentials for you though!
If you caught it last month you would have seen some of our favourite gear- from our Bugaboo stroller to our DockaTot!
This month is all about his bath and personal care items. I think sometimes these can be the hardest to shop for. You want to make sure you are picking the right items for baby’s skin and that can be nerve-wracking. I’m sharing a few of the products we are loving, from our bath to a gentle shampoo!
Read on for our month two favourites!
Month Two : Aren’s Essentials
1. Summer Infant Warming Waterfall Bath
We are totally loving this easy to use bath for Aren. The first week we bathed him directly in the sink but by week two worked up the courage to use the bath! Tiny squirmy babies are hard to wash but this bath makes it easy. We love the waterfall detail that keeps his back nice and warm throughout bath time! And the cushiony insert makes it even more comfortable. Aren actually adores bath time and this may be a reason why!
2. Beautycounter Bathtime Essentials
With all the toxic ingredients in skincare products these days, I knew I’d have to do my research when it came to picking out products for baby boy. We ended up deciding to go with the Beautycounter Super Duper Clean Kids Body Wash and the Nice Do Kids Shampoo. A few things worth mentioning: Beautycounter does carry baby specific items however their products are so clean that even the kids line is gentle enough for babies. Although we don’t bathe Aren every day yet, it’s nice to have super gentle products that I know are free of harmful ingredients. I’ll definitely be picking up the Soothing Baby Oil as we head into winter, but so far luckily Aren’s skin is as soft as can be!
Not familiar with Beautycounter? Head over to their website to learn more about their amazing worry-free products! They also have the loveliest makeup and skincare for us mamas!!
3. Piyo Piyo Nail Clipper
Another thing that I was scared of with baby? Clipping his finger nails! I’d heard that in the beginning it can be hard. Add a squirmy baby and it’s even harder! But babies are born with long nails and they definitely seem to scratch themselves with said nails! I had read that the Piyo Piyo nail clipper was a breeze to use and it really really is! I usually clip Aren’s finger nails when he’s nice and relaxed on the changing pad. He doesn’t seem to mind it at all and it has become a stress free piece in his care routine!
4. Burt’s Bees Creams
Similarly to his bath products, I researched diaper creams like a crazy person! I ended up going with the Burt’s Bees Diaper Cream, as well as their body lotion. While I have to be honest and say that I’ve only used the diaper cream less than a handful of times, it has worked quite effectively for us. A little bit goes a long way with both of these products. They’re also at great price points- something that is helpful in the neverending list of baby items you need.
5. Hooded Bathrobe
Don’t be fooled by all those mini me bathrobes you see online! A mini version of an adult robe is not what you want to be using on your newborn, no matter how cute it is. Getting those tiny wet arms into the arm holes is a nightmare, let me tell you! We’ve been loving this hooded lemon robe that just makes me want to smile! It is super absorbent and keeps Aren nice and warm when bath time is over!
