This post has been a long time coming but we are so excited to finally share a full review of our Bugaboo Cameleon 3 with you today! This stroller has been a big part of Aren’s life these 10 months and I imagine it’s going to be just as important the next year! Read on for more details of one of our most used baby items!
Stroller shopping! You know things are getting serious when you head out to try out strollers!
TBH I’d known that I wanted a Bugaboo stroller for quite some years now. Most of my good friends that have kids have had Bugaboos and I’ve always heard so many wonderful things about them. So when it came time for us to pick a stroller, I didn’t even have to do much research. Ok so I did a little research (I am a first time mom after all!)
Here’s what I found: a stroller company that virtually has a stroller for everyone. Depending on what your life style consists of, there is a stroller for you. I LOVE THAT. A stroller that is easy to maneuver, drives like a dream and is so customizable that you can really make it a part of your every day life, no matter where you are.
Here’s the full rundown:
What Stroller did we get:
We ended up with the Bugaboo Cameleon 3. We live in the burbs and have lots of storage space for a stroller so this was a great choice for us. If we were more city people I’d recommend perhaps the newer model, the Fox as it has a self standing design feature, crucial if you are tight on storage space!
We went with the Arctic Grey color as it was gender neutral and would work with a second child regardless of gender (Although Ara, if we have a girl in the future, I am getting the pink cover!)
Is it easy to put together:
Ara was able to put it together without any youtube videos so I’m going to go with a yes! He managed to get it up and running in one afternoon.
How easy is it to get in and out of the car:
So easy! I’ll be honest, putting things together isn’t really my strong suit. But this is a breeze. It’s two components (the seat/bassinet) and the base. You literally just plop on the seat to the base and off you go! Packing it up is simple as well. Like most baby things, you might need to do a trial run or two, but it’s fairly straightforward.
Selling points:
Ok so here’s how it really sticks out in my mind.
- Customization: If aesthetics are your thing, you can go wild. Pick a different handle, choose your color, there are so many options. And in terms of accessories you can really customize the stroller to your needs. We have the sun canopy which is so useful on vacation as well as now that’s summer. The footmuff was probably the only reason I could take Aren on so many walks this winter. Even the diaper organizer kept me on track and allowed me to stop carrying around a massive diaper bag. It’s perfect for us with one child but once we have a second we are planning on just adding the wheeled board that would allow little Aren to get a little more support while his future sibling sits in the chair.
- Two sets of wheels: We love the larger wheels in the back because they’re perfect for hikes or tough winter terrain. With one easy flick of the wrist you can move larger back wheels to the front, helping you get through that tougher terrain. see below image!
- Reversing the seat : LOVED this feature as well. When it’s too windy or sunny, I can just flip Aren around and have him face me. This has been so handy, especially now that it’s finally sunny here!! (reversing him when it’s windy was also key living in Montreal!)
My favourite feature:
For me it really has to be how smooth it is to move. You barely feel like you are pushing anything and that’s a plus for any new mom. 10 and a half months in and it still looks and feels brand new.
More details:
This stroller comes with a 5 point harness for safety. There is a storage basket, which has actually been upgraded to a larger size in the newer models. Personally I have the older one and I have never really had any issues with storage space. The newest model of the Cameleon weigh in at 21.2 pounds, which is pretty light when it comes to strollers! The fabric of the strollers is SPF50+, meaning they are well protected in the sun! And a fun little fact, I am able to hold nearly 11 month old Aren with one hand and assemble the stroller with the other. That my friends is a real win!
Overall thoughts:
We love our stroller so much. I literally can’t write one bad thing about it. Currently Ara is planning on buying the runner attachment that adapts to our stroller. So instead of having two strollers, we can just switch up our seat! How great is that?! And I have the Ant on my list- it’s their new travel stroller that just came out and it looks fantastic! We ended up bringing our stroller with us to the Bahamas and while I don’t regret it, the smaller Ant one would have been great for the pool!!
We were gifted the stroller, full disclaimer. But regardless of whether this collaboration panned out or not, I was 100 percent planning on buying it. That’s how strongly I felt about the Bugaboo brand before I even had it!
Thank you to Bugaboo Strollers for partnering up with us this first year of Aren’s life. For more information about their strollers click here and find them on Instagram here!
