Heading into summer it’s all about those crisp and refreshing drinks! While I’m not totally into Sangrias (usually too sweet for my liking), I had a sauvignon blanc sangria while I was in Miami and I was hooked! I had to try to recreate it of course, and so here we are today. It’s light, filled with tons of flavour and definitely different than your usual sangria!
You may also notice there’s a sous chef in the kitchen today…my mom! She came to visit for a few days and I had to jump on the chance to have Lisa Renault take some pictures of us! Read on for the recipe!
Sauvignon Blanc Sangria
serves 4-6
You’ll need:
- One 750 ml bottle Sauvignon Blanc chilled (I prefer any Marlborough one from New Zealand!)
- 2 cups chilled sparkling water
- 1 1/2 cup St. Germain Liqueur
- 1 pear, sliced and seeds removed
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- optional: 1/2 cup white grapes cut in half
Add pear and lemon slices (and grapes if you are using) in a pitcher
Pour in entire bottle of wine and St. Germain
Refrigerate for 30 minutes
Remove from fridge and add in sparkling water
Add ice into wine glasses and top with sangria
