It’s finally up! I managed to pick a few favourites from Aren’s birthday party to share with you all. And by a few, I mean like give or take 25 😉
I wanted something fun for the kids, but also something I could have fun with too. I figure this is probably the only year I’ll get carte blanche to plan before we head into the world of Paw Patrol, Thomas the Engine and whatever else the kiddos are watching these days.
Now because our pool was ready and it was a hot summer day, it kind of turned into a Party Animal Pool Party- which I was cool with!
But I still had so much fun with the inside of the house!
I opted to use a coral, orange and yellow color scheme to tie everything in together. Balloon Lounge made me the most amazing garland and I used these little palm leafs from Amazon to finish it up. I find it easy to make a cohesive party aesthetic when you pick a few colors and just stick to it. We had yellow and white striped beach towels for guests to use pool side, orange bubbles for the kiddos, and all the yellow and coral desserts!
Speaking of desserts, how beautiful was this cake from Sweet Savour by Felicia? Felicia made me a cake last year for our Baby Bash and it was just so delicious that I had to have her make this year’s cake as well. I went with yellow and white stripes and topped it with another Amazon find, this beautiful Giraffe figurine. L&V Sweets made my cookies and DoughNats made us the cutest little one shaped donuts! I kid you not when I say all the doughnuts and cookies were gone by the end of the party!
Wanting to really have a fun entrance into the house, I asked Balloon Lounge for a number one sign that was filled with balloons. Add a few party animals around it and it was all set!
For food, I opted to cater the lunch with BBQ fare from Blackstrap BBQ. Now there’s no pictures of the food but you can’t blame me- I can’t really stop 35 hungry people from eating lunch for a few photos 😉
And lastly, what’s a party without a favour? We had the cutest tiger and lion pinatas from Lula Flora. You guys, this girl is killing it on Etsy and I highly recommend you go take a look at her shop! I also had some cute animal cracker jars that I DIY’d myself. Tutorial coming to the blog soon!
PS notice a really cute Aperol Bar set up? Well that was also a fun DIY I did for the adults and will have its own blog post up very soon! My theory is that you’ve got to have at least one element dedicated to the parents at these things 😉
Scroll on down for the pics! I had so much fun with this and seeing Aren’s face as he took it all on was priceless. The inflatable animals are still hanging out in our family room. And as for cake? Well he loved cake and he also ate a full sugar cookie all to himself 😉

Revisiting this post as I plan a party myself! Were the chips bags just Kraft lunch bags? And when is the animal jars tutorial coming 🙂
Gigi says
Yes they are just regular bags! Just need to make sure they are the bags that can sit up on their own! I just went with a shorter size so there was less to fill- you’d be surprise how many chips fit inside!! And I was going to wait till after the holidays for the tutorial but I can get it up next week haha!!
