I don’t know about you guys but I pretty much crave cold drinks all the time when it’s warm out. With summer on its way, I’m sharing another super easy frozen summer cocktail- a frosé inspired drink that’s just about the prettiest thing, and it’s tasty! It does require a little bit of planning ahead of time, but the actual execution takes mere minutes! Read on for the recipe!
Strawberry Frosé Cocktail
yields 6-8 glasses
You’ll need:
- Bottle of dry rosé wine
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- Juice of 1 lemon
The night before you want to make the frosé, pour one bottle of rosé wine into a freezer safe dish. I used a pie dish! The key here is to just make sure that the liquid does not spill. Let freeze over night.
Boil 1 cup water and sugar in a small saucepan. Gently add in strawberries and let simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain liquid and set aside. You can use the leftover strawberries for a yummy pancake or waffle topping!
When ready to serve, scrape frozen rosé mixture into a blender. Add in 3 tablespoons of strawberry simple syrup and lemon juice. Blend on medium speed until well mixed.
If you find the mixture is not blending well, add in a little more syrup or even a tablespoon or two of wine. Give it a quick stir and try again!
Want the mixture to be sweeter? Add in more syrup! Need it to be a little frothier? Add half a cup of ice! I found it perfect if served right away, but it does melt fairly quickly so ice is a great addition if you need the drinks to last a little longer.
Pour evenly in goblets of choice and serve.
I love decorating the glasses with strawberries but I adore fresh flowers as well! Just make sure that the flowers are organic and not sprayed with any pesticides before use.
