We’ve been making these Baked Apple Cinnamon Donuts on repeat lately- they’re so good and the perfect fall treat!
In case you don’t know by now, I’m big on food. I mean, pasta and that carb life is mainly my jam but desserts can sometimes land up there in terms of importance. Like these Baked Apple Cinnamon Donuts, that are so good. And yes, I said baked! Honestly guys, you can’t even tell they are baked. They are so light and moist. So good and I bet you good money you can’t eat just one.
Here’s the secret to this recipe though. Instead of using grated apples I use apple cider. It gives it a lighter taste when making, and makes them fluffier.
Bonus Baking Tip:
If you want the apple flavour to be more pronounced, I’d recommend doubling the apple cider- but boiling it down till it reduces to 1 cup. It will make a stronger apple flavour.
I kid you not when I say everyone I’ve made these for loves these. Light and fluffy and topped with a sugar coating- they’re fall in a donut!
I like to use this donut tray when making mine. I have two of them which makes the process a bit quicker- but with a 12 minute bake time you could definitely just have one. Make sure to coat your tray with a butter/baking spray before baking. I’ve made that mistake of forgetting that step and it’s not pretty.
Obviously they taste best day of, but I think they still pretty great 1-2 days after.
Other tips? Let the donuts cool slightly before adding the coating otherwise you are going to be using a lot more sugar than one would want.
These Baked Apple Cinnamon Donuts are ridiculously easy to make and Aren approved- hope you love them as much as we do!
